Dead Man Sam was a notorious cowboy in the wild west. His moniker, as you might guess, came from the fact that he'd cheated death more times than a cat has lives. But despite his many close calls, Dead Man Sam never lost his quick wit or his love for adventure.

One day, Dead Man Sam was holed up in a saloon, playing poker with a few of his buddies. As the night wore on and the whiskey flowed, the stakes got higher and higher. Suddenly, the door burst open and a gang of bandits rode in, guns blazing.

Dead Man Sam and his buddies hit the deck, but the bandits weren't after them. They were after the saloon's safe, which was said to hold a king's ransom in gold. Dead Man Sam sprang to his feet and draw his six-shooter. He took aim at the lead bandit and shouted, "Hold it right there, fellas! This here saloon is closed for renovations!"

The bandits, taken aback by Dead Man Sam's quick wit, hesitated for just a moment. And in that moment, Dead Man Sam let loose with a barrage of lead. The bandits quickly realized they'd bitten off more than they could chew, and they hightailed it out of there.

Dead Man Sam and his buddies emerged unscathed, and they collected their winnings from the poker table. As they rode off into the sunset, Dead Man Sam raised his hat and shouted, "Here's to another close call! I may be a dead man, but I sure ain't dead yet!"
